Cozy Cocoa + Coloring Weather
It’s officially cozy cocoa + coloring weather here in Los Angeles. It doesn’t actually snow here or anything, but it does get below 70 degrees Fahrenheit, which I think we can all agree is freezing. Right? And perfect for snuggling up with a warm cup of vegan hot cocoa, and a coloring book. So, I’m going to share my favorite vegan hot chocolate recipe in honor of the season.
<Insert twenty paragraphs about why I love hot chocolate, and how the inspiration comes from a cup of cioccolata calda I had that one time, and childhood, etc. before I finally give you the dang recipe… just kidding!>
BEST VEGAN HOT COCOA EVER
Ingredients:
2 cups of vanilla oat milk
1/2 cup of vegan chocolate chips*
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of maple syrup
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Mini marshmallows*
Yields 2 servings
*I use the Trader Joe’s brand.
Directions:
Warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add the chocolate chips and stir.
Bring to a slight simmer and add the vanilla extract, syrup, and cinnamon.
Stir for another 1-2 minutes, watching to make sure it does not to boil over.
Serve with as many mini marshmallows as you desire!
Enjoy!
Now settle down with a nice cozy coloring book and relax. Maybe put on a holiday movie, and enjoy. ‘Tis the season to treat yourself after all.
